Fostering Financial Literacy: Getting to Know the Actuarial Profession in the General Insurance Business

MSIG Indonesia, one of the general insurance companies in Indonesia that has been established since 1975, has started a collaborative journey with Prasetiya Mulya University to organize a public lecture series related to the general insurance industry. This year, MSIG Indonesia was again given the opportunity to deliver a public lecture at Prasetiya Mulya University with the theme "Financial Literacy and Actuarial in Business: The Actuarial Profession." This collaborative effort aims to fulfill the educational and developmental needs of the Prasetiya Mulya University community of dedicated students and faculty.

The public lecture was held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Prasetiya Mulya University campus in BSD City, Tangerang. The event started with a comprehensive and insightful presentation of our company's business profile, which was well delivered by Ms. Susana Alamsyah, the General Manager of MSIG Indonesia. After that, the audience was treated to an in-depth and engaging exploration of the "Actuarial Profession," led by Mr. Bima Nitiditrisna, FSAI, as an Actuary at MSIG Indonesia, who explained his experience and overview of the actuarial profession in the general insurance industry during his presentation session.

This public lecture proved to be a magnet for knowledge enthusiasts, with a large and diverse turnout of more than 50 students. Our partnership with Prasetiya Mulya University demonstrates a shared commitment to advancing financial knowledge among students.
